KZ2 Didn't have a cheaper PS3, holidays, and so much advertising/critical acclaim behind it.

What about Alan Wake? I know, it seems like straw-clutching but as I said, I'm looking at this from a realistic standpoint. Microsoft didn't get this far to just let the gen slip through their fingers. |
YOua re clutching
alan Wake has the same system selling capability as Heavy Rain, probably not much as those kind of games don't really sell systems ona big level
@Kantor
you are REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY over-estimating GOW3
Mass Effect 1 has OUTSLOLD God Of War 2
Slip FF13 in there
You have to take in account that the prize effect change each time you reach 0.
When you have a expensive product, cutting the prize is a good strategy to compete.
But when the prize is low, that strategy is counter productive. So you have to think different.
Right now, the ps3 is very sensitive to the prize cut and it's logical. We will c for a long time the ps3 sales shine.
So grosoft could no more use effectively a prize cut to battle with sony, they have to use another and the only one i see is natal.
That means at the end on 2k10.
And that time i see the level of sale on par.
On one side sony wand, on other side natal. That will be the last battle for the first place of HD war. just before the Wii HD.

You missed a few games, 3 of which are exclusive.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Darth GoW2 isn't done selling. It's premature to state that yet. Also GoW2 is an older game and with older games tracking of this site becomes really shaky.

.....Didn't Mass Effect sell about on level with the last God of War? |
1. No it didn't.
2. We already have a Mass Effect this gen. God of War, on other hand...
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
nice ps3 sales its going to dominate the holiday season

Remains to be seen my friend, I still say Microsoft isn't going to let this go down the way some of us think... |
And you think Sony will let the momentum they currently have slip away? The current effort they are putting into stuff... Dissapear?

Throw in the PC sales for ME and you've got your "about on level"

It peaked at it's third year, it may be true that it peaked at it's second "large spike", but if you'll check, that spike is after 140-150 from the PS2's launch. |
That's because it launched early in Japan. See: America / Others
The PS2's biggest holiday boost (by far) was 2002, its second year on market.
Now, I don't necessarily think the Wii will overtake the PS2 sales in its current state. However, if Nintendo makes the right moves, it's definitely still possible (will be tough to keep it around as long as the PS2).
Btw, for the week ending 01st Nov, 2003, the PS2 did 363,349. So, the Wii is up for the week (over the PS2) by about 6%.
