Forums - Microsoft - A messy unboxing of Dragon Age Origins

So Bioware shipped me a copy of Dragon Age Origins with a few pieces of swag.

However, upon opening the box, I noticed a wii bit of sawdust. Opened the package and more dust. Then, when I finally opened the box, there was sawdust in at least 3-4 different places.

Here are the pics - had me sneezing for a few minutes ;-(

is that a dragon egg?

Edit : Dragon's Egg Origins.

@ L0ser - it's not free - I have to play it and then write a review. I normally make a lot more in two hours than the value of a game.

@ Pullus - it's some kind of drink - had a note in there. I never drink it - it makes for way cool convo starters than anything.

I'll add some more pics in a few.

Lucky you! Can't wait to see what is inside there

Why have you only just got it? Given how long people are reporting the game to be, surely your review is going to come in a little late {actually how long does it take you do to do your reviews?}

Very good point, Munkeh. I push hard to get early review copies of games so it can hit print the day it releases - or days before. We have a circulation of 400K+ DAILY, in addition to several thousands of folks online. You are looking at a potential 1M+ eyes viewing the paper - and MS is the only folks who send us stuff before release. Well, EA does too - with Beatles Rock Band, Dead Space Extraction and Godfather II - but that's it.

It's a cash cow, if you ask me. Get your name out there, a pic and a ton of exposure for just sending a game a few weeks early.

I get most of my games the day off release or right after it. I'll play through it - there's no rush, it's already out, then post a review. It's their loss, really.

I certainly agree, Sony allowed loads of early reviews for Uncharted 2, so there was a constant stream of hype about it for the month before release. I know it did go gold only relatively recently, but still you would have thought they would be able to get one to you... At least they did send you one, the game isn't out in Europe (on PS3) for another 2 weeks

They sent a copy to another staffer. I don't get anything from Sony. I think they are like 'He's always talking about the 360 or the like.' I don't get much love from Ninny either. Doesn't matter to me. I can play tons of games and write a review. I still get games, so that's a good thing.

Congrats for you.
