Forums - Gaming - Console Brand FINAL SHOWDOWN!!! PS1 vs SNES.....

The Super Nintendo.

It has the most complete library of any console, and it's games have aged incredibly well.
What I mean by complete is that other consoles can have tons of classics, but no Mario or Zelda will leave a huge hole in even the best of libraries.

Super Nintendo is the console that had everything.

I LOVE ICELAND!

My vote is for the PS1 because of it's great library of JRPG. Suikoden I and II, FF VII-IX, FF Tactics, Breath of Fire 3, Legend of Legaia, Chrono Cross, Alundra, Legend of the Dragoon, Xenogears, Grandia, Wild arms 1 & 2 and lot's lot's more.
It also has RE series, Silent hill, MGS, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot series and many more.

SNES is also a great system many great games too FF IV and VI, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, DK, Mario of course and many more.

Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, FF IV, FF VI, Breath of Fire 1, Breath of Fire 2, Illusion of Gaia, Secret of Evermore, Super Mario RPG, Illusion of Time, etc

SNES had a great library of JRPGs too!

Yes! I know that that's why I praise SNES too see the red one? It's just that FOR ME PS1 has the greater JRPG library than SNES. Suikoden II has the greatest story in any JRPG that I have played so far. FF VII for me is the best FF and yes I have played the older FF's. Xenogears and Legend of legaia has interesting battle gameplay. I think maybe next time you should learn to respect other's opinion becuase I really find it offensive that you're qouting me and put up some lists out there.

I'm not trying to be a jerk! Seriously. You claimed that the PS1 had a bunch of fantastic JRPGs and I wanted to continue on with what you were saying. I know I can't change your mind. xP

I was merely pointing out the fantastic JRPGs the SNES had to offer too!

Well, whatever. I am just in the bad mood. I am having connection problems. I apologize for being snappy and misunderstood what were you trying to say.

I definitely agree that snes have fantastic JRPG library. Both PS1 and SNES are beast.

Plotwise though, they just cannot be compared to the PS1 JRPGs.

Just stop

Khuutra has spoken. now we must obey.

I vote for the SNES. Some of my favorite games were:

Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Super Mario All-Stars
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Super Metroid
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

There are also a bunch of other great games like:

Final Fantasy III
Chrono Trigger
Mega Man X
Earthbound
Secret of Mana

This was truly the pinnacle of 2D gaming.

I still wanted to post to support this thread ahah

SNES

you can't go wrong with either but SNES games just feel more polished. 3D games were early and many lacked polish. That's basically the only reason i'm gonna go with SNES, all the other reasons seems to cancel each other out.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
