What Would The DS Look Like With a Four Inch Screen?

The current DSi screen is 3.25 inches. Rumor has it that Nintendo will be releasing a new DS with a 4 inch screen. What would that look like? Time to bust out the ruler and additional screen.

This perhaps. Below, a fan drawing show how much bigger two four inch screens would make the DSi.

It's like a small laptop!

Let's compare it to the DS Lite.

They could use a different type of speaker set up to allow for a small factor while increasing the screen size. That would save a lot of space. Or they could change the shape. Really, there are many things they can do to keep it from getting "too" big.

I was talking about area, which includes length. You do not need big speakers like the DS/DSL/DSI original have. You can use a more durable material for casing that allows for it to be thinner. You can get rid of the empty edges. Yes it will be bigger, but the size of a small laptop is exaggerating.

If people can hold things like this for much more daily use,

a DSi isn't that bad.

That is just one example of a large phone.

well, bigger screen = overall bigger handheld, this isn't rocket science.

although... I have heard that most older people have abnormally large pocket. ;)

Also, that's only if it doesn't have higher resolution capabilities and good upscaler with antialiasing. Which it likely won't, but still. It's a possibility.

It isn't big enough for too much pixelation at 4inches. The resolution is fine enough.

The DSi had a larger screen than the DSL and I think games stood out more. I dunno. I definitely liked Chinatown Wars and Pokemon on DSi veruss DSL.
