Forums - Gaming - Activision: PlayStation 3 Most Advanced!

Thankyou ssj12, that pick made me happy.

PS3 proabably is the most advanced, considering the money poured into the Cell. I mean, if Sony wanted something on par with 360, they'd just pay for some already-made Intel chips like Microsoft does.

The problem is that the console generation is only so many years long, and Sony has to make it quicker and more affordable for devs to produce PS3 games. That's where the problem will lie for many years still, I believe.

Those who speak their minds on the internet and such, usually take note of these kind of things. If a far more demanding and impressive game runs silky smooth on the platform and another less impressive game shows framerate issues, there will be criticism. Just look at the thousands of internet coverages regarding EA's subpar PS3 Madden ports, many people seem to notice although much of this is ignited by fanboyism (Look! Look!! The XBox 360 is more powerful!!! ).

Those who speak their minds on the internet and such are a very small part of the gaming population

Look at all the copies Madden on the PS3 sold, or all the copies Lair sold.

Oh, and there was hardly "thousands of internet coverages" about Madden running at a lower FPS on the PS3. It was mostly gaming blogs, and at most a short article on the main gaming site.

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

I call the Genesis/SNES war a tie.

Alot of people still foolishly believe the 360 is as powerful as the PS3, this is the only way to educate them.

I'd say the way to educate them is to actually come up with something that looks noticeably better than 360 games. That hasn't happened yet.

I still have to see one 360 game that looks as good as Heavenly Sword or Motorstorm .

There are many more people reading such discussions than there are people particpating.

Well google gives me well over 100,000 results with the keywords "Madden PS3 framerate XBox 360".

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

Gears of War still says Hi from 2006 to both.

Dirt on the 360 says Hi to Motorstorm.

BTW, these tech discussions may be widespread, but don't really hurt a system.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

The X-box 360 uses a custom designed IBM Power PC based CPU and a custom designed ATI GPU. The original X-box, not the 360, used an off the shelf Intel CPU and even it had a custom Nvidia GPU.

we already knew this--but it is really helping them right now isnt it

"Activision's chairman and CEO, Robert Kotick, told an audience member that he believes that the PlayStation 3 is the most advanced gaming platform available."

Him believing doesn't make it true. Thats a CEO's opinion, what would make it true for me is a game that would blow a 360 game out of the water. That hasn't happened yet.
