Those who speak their minds on the internet and such are a very small part of the gaming population
There are many more people reading such discussions than there are people particpating.
Oh, and there was hardly "thousands of internet coverages" about Madden running at a lower FPS on the PS3.
Well google gives me well over 100,000 results with the keywords "Madden PS3 framerate XBox 360".
