It shows that at the same point in the consoles lifetime, the PS3 is ahead by over 3 million sales. It isn't "spinning" anything.
It's not exactly lying...
There is another one though, kinda like the alligned launches one. If you count all PS360 consoles sold since PS3 launched, 360 is leading. (Last time i checked it was, anyway...)

It's spin and I'm not having this discussion with you if you cannot understand why thats the case. Perhaps saying there is no truth is harsh but thats my belief when people have to manipulate a graph to get a result they want. Spinning is not lying by the way which is maybe why you didn't understand the concept of my post.
I personally agree with heruamon and suspect a rat in a "newbie" posting such a link. There is no point debating the link, it's been done to death on here and never ends well. Finally the discussion is about LTD figures which means that link isn't even relevant to the discussion.

I know, I just don't get it. I mean MS have a good lead, may well keep 2nd place, etc. but even if it was closer what's he going to say? "Well, we reckon PS3's bound to overtake us eventually, but hey, we're cool." Hardly. Are Sony going to suddenly go "Ah, we blew our initial launch and we might never catch 360, or maybe it'll be close." Course not. Sony will say we're going to overtake MS eventually. MS will say no you're not.
Nintendo I guess just party on.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
Umm well i gues we will have to see but i would take what microsfot said with a grain of salt.

Nintendo cut the price, because demand slowed down after 3 (!!!) years at the same price. The price-cut was planned a long time ago, way before the PS3 slim happened. Nintendo is now again in perfect position for this holiday season. PS3 did NO damage to the wii. Wii sales declined 3.28 % the week after sonys price-cut. That is so low, that easily fits in this error-margin. Do you really think Big N was worried about anything? |
Why did the demand slow? Because Nintendo's offerings weren't meeting the desires of most gamers. Was there a system that was offering more to gamers during that time period? Well, if you go back to February through the first of April, you'll see that for twelve straight weeks the PS3 outsold the Wii in Japan.
It took Monster Hunter 3 and Wii Sports Resort to bring Wii sales back up to par. And those had started to decline again prior to the launch of PS3 Slim. The PS3 Slim selling 550,000 in its first week was something that I suspect Nintendo felt that they had to do something about, so in my opinion that is why they dropped the price. If they hadn't dropped the price the PS3 Slim would still be coming out on top of the Wii in worldwide sales up to the latest week, and even with the price cut and Wii Fit + in Japan, the Wii was still beaten in Japan two weeks ago and barely managed to eek out a victory over the PS3 there last week.

TOP? Sorry..i can't take this post seriously and your sig is a little misleading |
Let's look at the numbers: The PSP has sold 17.58 million units in Americas while PS3 has sold 9.76 million units. The PS3 will surpass the PSP current number over the next couple of years. The PSP has sold 21.53 million units in Others while the PS3 has sold 11.80 million units there. PS3 will surpass the PSP's current number in Others eventually. In Japan, the PSP has sold 12.88 million units while the PS3 has sold 3.71 million units there. The PS3 may never surpass 12.88 million Japan is the land of handhelds. However, it will certainly pass 10 million as a result of FFXIII, FFVXIII, FFXIV, and other games that will come to PS3 as a result of those titles and receive comparable support from Japanese developers to the support that PSP has had to bring it to 12.88 million. So, the PS3 will easily pass 10 million in Japan and be the best selling second Japanese console in a gen ever (not counting handhelds).

Uhh, geez you have your knickers in a knot now don't you? I didn't manipulate any charts, nor am i "spinning" anything. Simply goto "Charts", then "Hardware from launch". VGChartz have it there for the world to see. So please, leave your abusive comments to yourself, as i stated i was simply adding it to the discussion. Just because you and many other long term readers have seen the chart a million times doesnt mean that all the new users who join here every day have.
