This must be very disappointing numbers for Nintendo, I wonder if it'll be similar figures worldwide.

They did about 150k in the US according to the preview, and I am sure that at least the UK will see a nice wii boost.

yeah PS3 is doing amazing numbers, however next week will be even tighter i predict. It's too early to predict how the holidays will shape up, depends on the impact of games and price. The wii price effect i guess will be shown its true powers in the holidays. But the way i see it, both consoles are are starting to get a great lineup, similar to PSP and DS, and it seems both consoles are gonna be a success similar to the handhelds as well.

oh god, not even wii fit plus and wii sport resort.

i guess it will remain like this un DQX it's released.

i think this christmas maybe head to head between wii and the ps3.

wii maybe stay up in america maybe in europe but japan will go ps3.

I wonder if Media Create and Degenki will have lower PS3 sales like last week or if it'll be more in line

Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Maybe my prediction will become reality. Some guy said that the japanese Market is pretty predictable and there would be almost no chance PS3 will sell more than Wii over the Holidays. Another one said my prediction is unlikely and it is pulled out of nowhere just because i had no data to back it up and my other arguments where faulty (Saturation of Market for Wii, FF13 because Famitsu said so).

Its like I said before, software sells consoles, not price and price cuts (In fact in Japan, new colors and hardware revisions might even be more effective than price cuts).  Price cuts only serve to make your money go further when buying a console you're already interested in, what Wii needs in Japan is the release of its winter lineup to get people interested, of course, since October and part of November is historically a slow month for Japan, Nintendo appears to be holding off until late November, December to release its big titles
