@trestres: It's not about what they projected itself, it's about what they manufactured. Without the huge warehouse full of Wiis, Nintendo wouldn't have a need to drop the price even if sales were down, because what was caused by the lack of appealing software, can be corrected by making appealing software. Pricecut isn't going to cause sustaining effect anyway and once the warehouse is creared, Wii will be 250 again, this time the package will be added with WSR and WM+.
Obviously, by looking at Wii sales, their game release schedule have been appropriate for selling the system, it's only that Wii Music and Animal Crossing didn't perform as expected.
So far Nintendo have released its new kind of games with old kind of game, not quite sure what to think about WSR, Wii Fit Plus and NSMBW. WSR should fit into the "new" category, WF+ should be an old type of game due to being a direct sequel (kind of) and NSMBW had its predecessor on DS, which should make it an old type of game (then again, it's been a while since the last new 2D Mario on home consoles).
