Nintendo made the same mistake that they did last year. They expected that with only a couple of games, sales would be sustained once again for a whole year. It failed last year with AC:City Folk and Wii Music. It's failing now with WSR and Wii Fit+, so they had to resort to a price cut or sales would have been abysmal in comparison to what they projected, since NSMBWii doesn't come until the end of the year.
They are in a very bad position if they still plan on releasing 2-3 big games/year. If NSMBWii doesn't have the desired effect and Nintendo keeps on releasing so few games, I can easily see the Wii price being dropped to 150 bucks by the end of next year.
It's Nintendo's and third parties fault for the lack of SW, which killed the momentum by creating disinterest in potential buyers towards the console.
