Forums - Nintendo - So, no Nintendo conference this fall?

Dosent look like their will be a Nintendo conference this year?

That's sad, what about the new Zelda, Retro Studios Project or Project Sora game? Do we have to wait until next E3? That' s a long time to wait. Microsoft announced Fable III last August in Games Convention and the Tokyo Game Show was plenty of PS3' games. But Nintendo did nothing. I wonder if Nintendo isn't doing homework correctly...

Yes, I have to say that I DON'T like Nintendo's new tight lipped policy on announcements. Sony and MS both announce games that are 3 to 4 years out, and I don't hate them for it. I (for one) would like some info on Zelda, Retro, Sora etc. even if it is only a SCRAP.

Just announce a new 2D Donkey Kong platformer for Wii and all is forgiven.

What really frightens me is the fact that they do not announce games not only because their new policy....but also because they have nothing to show.

Wait, so there's no conference? Bummer, I was looking out for what they would show.

Apparently, NIntendo is having a conference on October 8th. There is a possibility for new info. But we don't know that.

Yeah, I doubt they will: the retailer conferences have all been to pitch retailers to buy games coming out this holiday. Announcing new games that aren't releasing this holiday would be asinine at best.

Yes, but isn't the fall conference the retailer conference? Aren't they usually the same thing?

Or that could just be the venue for them to finalize their holiday 09 plans for Japan. But still, it could at least be a chance to look ahead at SMG2, which is supposed to be releasing relatively soon even by their standards.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

My understanding is that the two things have been separate until now. I could be wrong though.

I have this strange, strange feeling about Zelda Wii, now. I don't know why. Now I anticipate tha it will be either the last hurrah for the platform, never announced as such... or it might take Twilight Princess' role of heralding the next system.

I don't know why I'm thinking that. I have faith in 2010. But, on the same note, I had faith in 2009, too.

Five years since a console Zelda was last announced! This is like the gap between Link to the Past and Ocarina, almost.
