OT: What if the OP is right? What if the PS3 Slim sales fall off and slip under the 360? What if the Sony comeback never happens? Why grasp for straws with every halfway decent PS3 release? Saying 'Oh, when this comes out ...' or 'when this title comes out ...' Even longtime PS3 fans are very, very quick to say 'This poster doesn't represent most of the PS3 fans."

Seriously, I think it's funny watching this back and forth. Didn't the PS3 outsell the 360 most of last year and with a very small price cut - didn't MS continue to outsell the PS3 until this pricecut?

What is even funnier is how folks have just forgotten how much money Sony is still in the hole. Price cut for the 360? Why? Let Sony eat into that now 7M lead. Let them continue to burn through money - and MS makes another play and reverse things again. Then what? MS has kept Sony running since release. Even with RROD, MS is controlling the HD market. Yes, it's being outsold by the PS3 for a few weeks - but make no mistake - it's by no means permanent. Do this for several months and MS will take notice. Middle of next year and the PS3 Slim is still outselling? Yeah - MS will be concerned.

PS3 fans are celebrating the recent weeks WAY to hard and blowing the PS3's success and it's meaning WAY out of proportion.

But going in the opposite direction with a thread like this is just as unrealistic.

You're right it could be argued. I initially thought ps3 had the best 2010 lineup. Upon further review though, I don't think any consoles upcoming games outweigh the others. I have actually been pondering this lately.

I feel like I'm missing a few 360 games but even more ps3 games. Can someone help me out, I'm looking as I type this.

Holiday season 09 in my opinion definitely belongs to the 360 though

The slim could not have come at a more opportune time for sony. As they will actually come out a bit ahead this holiday season. I for one did not anticipate the slim being this succesful. I looked at it more like a price cut, but I underestimated the power of a remodeled sku. It's basically like a new console of sorts. It has the same effect but at a much shorter length.

This site is becoming a joke, well not the site itself, the news articles and games data base are as good as ever. But the community..some person posts a thread about how the ps3 will catch the 360, and everyone's like.."I CAN SEE THIS HAPPENING" "HIS LOGIC IS SO GOOD"
"I AGREE WITH U". Someone makes a pro 360 thread and the replies are "lol alt account"

hi guys, SONY lineup next year is the practicly the strongest lineup of any console in history LOLLLLLL, gran turismo 5, god o war 3 just these 2 games will polvarise the 360 sales, they are the 2 most anticipated games on the ps3 console, so why would u say that the 30 has a stronger linup next year, to be fair the 360 has not 1 strong game coming out next year, i like the 360 (hek i even own one, and a ps3 and a wii lol) but the 360 games ar coming to a end, they need new fresh titles, maybe gears of war is still alive but that's about it, and we dont even no for sure if there is a gears of war 3 releasing,other than gow3 360 has not 1 exclusive they need a new hit, and t hey nedd it know

Microsoft is ahead by a long way, that gives them time to create an appropriate response.

It may or may not be effective but lets not forget its the 360 that's ahead of the ps3 overall and the slim hasn't changed that.

Well, ODST was still widely viewed as an expansion pack, so it's a bit unfair of a comparison. Think of Natal as the ps3 slim, obviously, it got the ps3 to sell a good amount over the 360. Natal with normal success will do what the slim is doing with the ps3. I think Natal will be insanely succesful however because of how much support and hype it has from the casual audience, mostly novelty curiosity.

Also Sonys motion control will propel Natals sales even more. Sonys motion control is similar enough to the wii in the eyes of the casual audience (the most important audience in this regard) that it might hurt it's sales just a bit. In term, when Natal releases it would make more people take interest and be compelled to purchase Natal because it's so different. It won't be viewed as the same type of 'toy' as the wii and sony motion controls, preventing people from reasoning, well I have a Wii already, why would I spend hundreds of $$$ for this. People will think, well I don't have this.

If we apply very simple maths, given the results price cut and Slim model gave to PS3 and those price cut and latest Halo gave to XB360, gap reduction is more likely than its growth, at least for a while, very simple. Anyway, somebody reacted very angrily to a thread that most probably is a joke, I can admit without any problem that they must be fanboys.
