Look at the pattern:
Hold current pricing as long as possible.
Wait for Sony's next move.
Delete the Pro Sku.
Drop the Elite pricing.
Release a strong holiday lineup along with a Halo Expansion to appease the core fanbase.
Get through Christmas with strong sales.
Sony will outsell them this Christmas, but Microsoft will do well.
Release heavy hitters in the first three quarters of 2010 to satisfy the fanbase.

Then...
In Q4 of 2010...

A NEW XBOX360 Sku with Natal embedded.
Huge marketing blitz.
Halo Reach.
Fable III.
Gears of War 3 (if the 2-year development stays true to form).
And a price drop through all three Skus.

Microsoft has a 8+ million console lead.
They'll give up 2-3 million of that lead to prepare for the onslaught.

They feel that they'll recover that IN SPADES a year from now.

So the Sony fans should rejoice. For now.
The PS3 is new, fresh, and affordable.

But I'm just afraid that it'll look pretty dull a year from now.

Aesthetically and commercially.

Remember, Microsoft are MASTERS at marketing.

Next year will be a BEAST for Microsoft.

Natal PLUS Halo Reach? WOW.

I don't think it will the gap will increase to 10mil but maybe drop alittle maybe to 7mil and stay around there for the rest this gen don't think the ps3 will ever catch up

You seem to forget that Sony has heavy hitters for March as well as their own motion controller.

Nice, a bunch of Sony fanboys trolling a 360 thread...why am I not surprised?
Anyway, The op has a point, I am not going to speculate on how sales will be because anything can happen between now and then, but everything that was listed in the OP will definitely boost sales. The PS3 has a decent line up of games, but with a new SKU, possible pricecuts, new hardware, and a pretty decent lineup of games...well, Sony had better be on their toes, after all, they only have a decent line up of games and the wand announced. BTW,

ODST was more of an expansion (and overpriced one at that) And cannot be used as a standard to measure how Reach will do.

This is a 360 vs PS3 sales thread started to stir up controversy by a 1-post account; this is not a 360 thread.  And the OP (and pterodactyl by incorporation) have taken the worst of it so far.

I'm not surprised you view it differently, though.
