Forums - Gaming Discussion - console + PC games are NOT exclusive

ironman said:
Put it this way, if the game is a 360 game, then it is an exclusive because it is exclusive to MS consoles (MS windows ring a bell?) Just like a PS3 exclusive that also comes out of the PSP is still and exclusive to Sony, and a Nintendo game that comes out for the Wii and the DS is a Nintendo exclusive. It's simple really, I don't know how you people don't get that.

Well...

So 360/PC is exclusive. But PS3/PC is what? Multiplatform?

And also, the opposite of Exclusive is Multiplatform, right!? So why would a combo HW/SW developer make any difference to whether or not a game is exclusive or not? Its not called multideveloper, its called multiplatform. A Platform is defined, in this case, as a computing system, where the console is one computing system, and the PC is another. I.e Multiple systems (Multiple platforms).. and the word Multiplatform is born.

A agree. Exclusive implies only available on one system...I don't know why some people don't credit the PC as a gaming system because it is.

It is a gaming system...a MS gaming system since you can only play games with MS software. So, that being said, any 360 "exclusive" that is also on the PC  is a MS exclusive...see how that works?

Since when is that the basis for which we classify exclusive? I've never heard someone say "This is coming exclusively to Sony/Microsoft systems." It's always "This game is exclusive to the PS3/360." I'd like to know when the definition was changed.

Yes, Once again The PC is a different animal because you cannot play most games without having an MS OS on it, Plus the PC game often is sanctioned by MS.

No it isn't

@ ironman - there's just too many exceptions, maybes, depending on this and that etc.. for your logic to be successful. It dosent add up. Exlusive is and have always been defined as Single or Only. And not divided or shared with others; ex. "they have exclusive use of the machine"; "sole rights of publication"

There's really no need to try and bend the definition just so it'll work with what you're trying to achieve.

Barozi - Its not even the same game. Its like saying that since you can play a flash version of Gears of War on Freegames(dot)whatever, its multiplatform, and you know thats not true. And if we go by your definition, the 360 just lost all its exclusive titles and became multiplatform. So that wouldn't really help your case, since you obviously want console/pc to be exclusive.

If you would listen closely to shio or vlad you would know that the console game versions are dumbed down from the almighty PC versions. Just like cellphone games or handheld games are just dumbed down console games.

But they are fundimentally the same game. LBP and LBP PSP are completely separate. Think of the PSP version as LBP 2. Problem solved.

Oh just come off it.. you are very well aware of what im talking about. You just want to argue.

A Console game vs a Cellphone game is hardly the same thing as a Console game vs a Pc game. And i bet shio and vlad will admit to that aswell :)
