Forums - Microsoft - Forza 3: What's on disc 2 (104 cars, 29 tracks)

@Ironman -My brother has recently bought a new arcade, he already had and xbox with a 120 gb HDD but it kept getting RROD, I traded my set off army boots for his old 360 but he kept the 120gb HDD, I am a very big racing sim fan and i've been looking forward to getting forza 3 for ages, but i Don't have a HDD and as i'm paying bills I can't afford to get one at the moment. but i will be getting forza, is it not unfair that I won't be able to access the whole game?? even though i have paid the same as everyone else

Beautiful car.  Very nice from them to include older cars.  I would prefer the round headlights version though, hopefully they include it too.

Woah, why so uptight? I'm just stating something that i've seen as a 360 user. You know, people don't all have the money to afford different SKU's. My friends got an arcade, because that's the most that they could afford, they are 360 only users because it was the cheapest console on the market here in europe, which is normally the most expensive market on par with Australia.
Please, as a racing enthusiast, don't try to tell me the importance of the nurburgring, because in that aspect I probably know more than you do and I don't want to start an argument over it.

What I tried to say in my post is that people are entitled to their opinions and complaints in this particular matter, you give some valid points in your arguments, I concede to that, but other people have also given valid points as well.

I'm uptight because I HATE the entitlement mentality, like you didn't know what you were getting yourself into. I understand not everybody could afford anything other than the arcade, but it's extremely hipocritical to buy the model without the hard drive, then complain you didn;t get a hard drive with your console. I mean, think about it, if they could only afford the arcade model, but there was no arcade model because all 360s came with a HD and were therefore more expensive that the arcade, they would be sitting at home right now complaining that they don't have a 360.

Believe me, I know the history of the Nurburgring, It USED to be a widely used and renound racing track, but those days are OVER. Forza 3 does not focus on touring car races, so it actually makes sence that they put the track on the second disc.

Other people's opinions are based on the assumption that nobody knew they weren't getting a HD with their 360. Lemme ask you this, do you know ANYBODY with an arcade model, that took it home from the store, opened it up and was like "WTF MS didn't give me the harddrive I paid for!"

You say that you hate the entitlement mentality, yet you are showing a close minded mentality that I hate as well, but that doesn't give me the right to be uptight about it.
Yes they would be sitting at home with no 360, just as they are sitting at home with no PS3 and no Wii, because they can't afford any of them at the price that they are (or were, in the case of the Wii).
The point is that they are not complaining about the arcade not coming with the HDD, they knew that already, the point is that the 360 games were always marketed and pointed as being the most streamlined and that they could have all the content in the discs without any need of installs, isn't that what has been the market of the 360 so far?.

So now having one game coming to the 360 that needs installs to access the full content of the game is bound to dissapoint some people, whether they are right or wrong about it. I bought mine with a HDD because I knew that I would have the need for a HDD, because of installing games on the HDD gives you some advantages over playing it only on DVD, but most 360 consumers don't have that kind of knowledge and information, because outside normal gaming circles, that information isn't that well widespread.

And about the nurb, as i said i don't want to start a discussion about it, but given that it's one of the most legendary tracks in racing history, and undoubtly the most complex track ever made, wouldn't it be logical to put it as a main track on Forza? I'm just saying this as a Racing fan.

Edit - After wandering through the list better, and using your logic, shouldn't Le mans track be on the optional disc as well, since most of the Le mans car are on the European Car Pack? See how unlogical that would be as well?

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

Can you download 1 car and 1 track if you want to?

Do you have to install the entire pack or you can download the car you want?

Please tell me,many people have Arcades with 256 mb storage.

Why are there people defending Turn 10? Period.

I don't if they let you put on "bits and pieces of your choosing". They have effectively shafted Arcade users. And don't give that BS "If they were slick racing fans, they'd have an HDD anyway" or even worse "they'll should just snag one on the cheap"

I thought that $199 was the sweet spot to get SO many more consumers? Now with those SO many more consumers....they'll have to spend extra to enjoy the game fully? Or will they just have to stick with paying $60 for 2/3 of a game?

It is all a matter of perspective. Some see it as getting extra, some see it as getting less.

But keep in mind that if they had decided not to have a second disc, they sure as fuck wouldn't have changed the retail price for the game to $40.

As a PS3 owner, I must ask...what's this 'disc 2' you speak of???

P.S. This hilariously blows for arcade users.

Ah well that's kinda a setback. For those with no harddrive or 20 GB harddrive I could see this as an issue. One of the main things I don't like about PS3 is some of those mandatory installs.

Luckily I won't have to care about this issue because I don't buy simulation racers to begin with haha. So no biggie. But let's hope this isn't a trend that'll continue... or at least not too much.

So Fujimi Kaido , Nurburing and Amalfi ?

2nd Disc >>>> 1st ONE :P

Actually, my mentallity is one of common sense, you CANNOT complain about something you already knew was going to be a problem if you wanted extra content from games. It's hipocritical and just plain idiotic. it's like being mad that your truck doesn't have enough power to tow your boat...when there was a model thatCOULD tow your boat available, and the tow capacities WERE listed...it's one of those "Dur" things.

No, they were promised no manditory installs...so far, the only installs I have seen, have been optiontal. The extra content on disc 2 is more akin to DLC that you don't have to download or pay extra for.

Yes, but what IS common knowlege, and one of the first things a store associate will ask you is, "Do you want to be able to download expansions for you games?" And what you are saying is that people can be mkad about the map packs that are put out by many game studios because without the mappack, you cannot experiance the whole game.

And about the nurb, as i said i don't want to start a discussion about it, but given that it's one of the most legendary tracks in racing history, and undoubtly the most complex track ever made, wouldn't it be logical to put it as a main track on Forza? I'm just saying this as a Racing fan.

That very well may be true, but I'm saying it isn't widely used for racing anymore. Also, we don't know what maps or cars are on the second disc, without this knowlege, we cannot say the nrub is the best track in the game. Besides, one could speculate that turn 10 put the nurb on the second disc to entice people to use the second disc...perhaps to justify the second disc's existance.

Edit - After wandering through the list better, and using your logic, shouldn't Le mans track be on the optional disc as well, since most of the Le mans car are on the European Car Pack? See how unlogical that would be as well?

Well, no, the lemans track is still widely used, so you fail at using my logic.
