Not that it matters really as long as there have been games you've enjoyed.  But do you think there will be any DS or Wii games that make Overall Game of the Year award competitions on the big sites like IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers, etc.? I know IGN didn't have a Nintendo game nominated last year, I'm not sure about the others, but it seems like it would be strange if no game on a Nintendo console had been nominated 2 years in a row.

I really doubt it, actually. The gaming media has largely been very dissatisfied with the Wii's lineup this year, and none of it has been deemed so excellent by them as to surpass all else

Your basic overall goty contenders are going to be Uncharted 2, MW2, and Arkham Asylum. Possibly Brutal Legend, depending on how much hype it actually gets near the end.

Depending on how it goes, Other M could be a goty contender, next year, so could Zelda, next year or the year after.

EDIT: DS games will never be in contention, i'm sorry to say. May sound a bit pessimistic, but that's how the trend goes. Console games >> handheld games. I don't subscribe to that idea at all, but that's how the media goes.

No, probably not. The Wii's line-up this year was lackluster when it comes to Nintendo-made games.

Scribblenauts has a chance, I think. In fact, I'd bet money that either Scribble, Chinatown Wars, or Kingdom Hearts will get at least handheld game of the year from many places.

Mr Khan,twice I have seen a DS game in the Overall GOTY list by gamespy(as high as number 4).Scribblenauts can still be nominated even with an 8.7 just for innovation.Okami wa what,a 9.0?NSMB & MPtrilogy,yeah.The wii didn't have GOOD hardcore games this year,Red Steel 2 was postponed.Next year:Other M,No More Heroes 2,Monster Hunter,Red Steel 2,I doubt Zelda will be next year,The Grinder,Mario Galaxy 2,maybe even Pikmin 3,I'm saving up dough!

He did say get nominated right?Not win it.So it doesn't have 2 beat Uncharted 2,Arkham Asylum or MW2(Killzone 2.....I dunno,too controversial).It only has to be in the top 5 GOTY.
