Have you even bothered to look at the preorder charts once in a while ?
I think it can, but it won't.

I think it probably will, I see both games ending up in the 14-17 million range, with Modern Warfare 2 having a slight edge. I think Modern Warfare 2 will be absolutely huge this holiday.
I think GTA IV will stay ahead of both titles. They release them too frequently to give future titles really long legs, especially if Treyarch do well with COD 7.
Tease.
The best selling PS2 game sold 18 million (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas). The second best selling PS2 game sold 14.9 million (Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec). And this is on a userbase of 130 million PS2s.
Since COD4:MW has currently sold 12.3 million, my guess is that MW2 will sell between 13-14 million.
A lot of you are estimating that it would sell 10 million on the 360 alone, which would be near Halo 3 numbers. I do not expect Activision to spend the same amount on marketing like Microsoft did, and neither do I expect to see as many console hardware bundles as Halo 3 had. Based on that I would expect 360 sales to be 8 million and change.

I've seen it, but obviously the GAME will be frontloaded
COD4 wasn't frontloaded as it was the game that went "BIG"......so it became big on legs
but Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to the "big" game so it would be frontloaded
Just because pre-orders are insanely high doesn't mean the total sales will be higher in the same way.
COd4 became HUGE on its legs, Modern Warfare 2 has HUGE pre-orders......I'm thinking maybe the legs won't be that impressive on thus one
but lets see
Yes it will Cod: MW 2 has a good chance of hitting 10 million.
