I'd also like to point out that as far as Europe is concerned, I haven't seen anything suggesting that the 40 GB model is selling well. It's likely that the biggest part of this increase is due to the price cut on the 60 GB model (from 600 € to 500 €), mainly due to the fact that the Starter Pack offers much better value (+ 2 games and 1 controller) and better hardware for a 100 € difference.

If wii sales are dead how about the ps3 sales ? rofl.

And i guess the ps2 was dead in japan as well... after all, it sold under 30k like 2 months in a row, with one week getting as low as 3k

The Wii sales are at a similar position to what PSP sales were for 2 years ...

Compared to how it was selling 100k+ weekly, it is dead. PS3 sales are terrible, but if it increases to even 50k it can be amazing. This "MAY BE" Sony's so called "BIG COMEBACK"

You're quick to jump to conclusions leo-j, yet you scorned us when we said PS3 will lose.

If think the main point is this one :

At shop, people are trying to sell the PS3 60gb saying "it will not last forever, it is the last PS3 with RC, buy it now".
I have seen this today. It was simply strange to see this Xbox360 owner hesitating to pick up the starter pack because the 60gb will disappear.
So, After 2-3 weeks, the 60gb may be soldout everywhere in europe.

THEN the big question is :

will european gamer continue to buy the new 40gb PS3 that will be the ONLY PS3 offer left at 400 euros ????????
- do they continue to buy it ?
or
- do they wait until Sony decide to release the 80gb here ?

Japan doesn't have the same series replacement program in August and September that has 15,000,000+ gamers replace Madden, NHL Hockey, and NBA Basketball so they have a traditional slow period; on top of that the Wii hasn't had a major game release in well over a month. With all this the Wii has continued to sell more in this timeframe than Sony has ever sold in a similar timeframe.
