Japan doesn't have the same series replacement program in August and September that has 15,000,000+ gamers replace Madden, NHL Hockey, and NBA Basketball so they have a traditional slow period; on top of that the Wii hasn't had a major game release in well over a month. With all this the Wii has continued to sell more in this timeframe than Sony has ever sold in a similar timeframe.
