But with the Wii's userbase it should be selling even more.

And don't bother bringing up the PS2 having about twice that when Odin Sphere came out. I will not even acknowledge it.

Duh, everything that has to do with the Wii is a flop until it sells 5 million copies.

I don't know, VGC tends to overtrack games like this. I'd wait a while (probably NPD) to be sure, though I definitely hope it did do well. The game looks great.

Too bad I didn't bring my Wii to college, hopefully I'll get to play it around Thanksgiving.

As for terms, I always thought it was
pre-order: manufacturer to retail
NPD: tracks retail to consumer

So by pre-orders alone, we can't easily judge if NPD is undertracking or not.

I remember reading several times that NPD tracks sold to retail (and VGChartz sold to customer). If the preorders are from manufacturer to retail, then it's possible VGChartz overtracked the preorders.

I wouldn't count on these being entirely accurate. Look at what happened to MP Trilogy. The game sold less than 59k for sure since those were the numbers for the Nº 18 game in August. So with MP Trilogy not being in the Top 20, the real MP Trilogy numbers according to NPD could be even lower than 50k. VGChartz has them at 115k for the same timeframe.

So I would just wait for NPD numbers before fully adopting these figures.
