I remember reading several times that NPD tracks sold to retail (and VGChartz sold to customer). If the preorders are from manufacturer to retail, then it's possible VGChartz overtracked the preorders.

NPD tracks sold to consumers.

I see.... and VGChartz?

I actually expected it to sell this much given the internet advertising and heavy word of mouth. Still, I'm happy to see it sell this well. Now I just hope it'll sell at least 200,000 (more like 300,000-500,000) in America to encourage Vanillaware to make a sequel. Seeing as how its coming out in 2 1/2 months in Europe, that should help too.

It looks good for this 'niche' game.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

So 50k is good now?

Man that sucks..... hopefully sales pick up a bit.

Before you get into Vgchartz vs NPD battle rememeber they BOTH estimate their numbers is just the real data that each extrapolate from are from different and the amount of it.

On Topic Nice hope it continues.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

For a "niche" game like this in its first week, yes it is...

Let's just remember the sales of Okami on PS2: around 300k LIFETIME, with a 100 million+ userbase...

Btw, can't wait for the european release... so glad Rising Star's here to bring little gems like these overseas: it's not the billions made by Nintendo that will help such games to be commercialised down here... they don't even do it for their own 1st party "niche" games these days, they're way too busy with a couple of mass market Wii titles each year... sounds bitter? Yeah, but that's the sad truth...

Wrong. It's not "now". It's "still". These smaller games don't need huge openings.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Hmm, with hardcore Wii games like this i would wait for NPD numbers before i'll state that the game sold well or not. I mean let's be honest, almost ALL hardcore Wii games are overtracked on VGChartz for their first few week. For some reason VGChartz has a hard time tracking the sales of these games. We saw this already with Mad World, Metroid Prime: Trilogy, The Conduit and more.

To be clear, i hope the games does well, cause it looks to be a fantastic game. But i'll wait for NPD numbers before i'll say the game sold well or not.

I think that's decent sales for a first week. It is a niche game. Congrats!!!

Nice it deserves every sale it gets

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
