Only shooters will now sell more on 360, until the console dies in a few years.

Arkham sold better for 2 simple reasons.. its a new game, and the slim is a new console.. and new gamers want new games with new consoles... 360 will still outsell ps3 on most multiplats, although im sure for certain genres that may not be true..

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

Not a chance. Only place it might outsell the 360 is in Japan.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

but are you going to buy MW2 on PS3 or 360?

There are tons of games which sold more on PS3, recently Batman, before that Tomb raider, Burnout Paradise, Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter 4 or Soul Calibur just to name a few.

Sure, you can find a lot of specific reasons for each one, but the fact is 360 software share tends to decrease, while PS3 software share tends to increase. Shooters will probably never sell more on PS3 until the 360 dies though.

More and more games will now sell more on PS3.

what if... don't get mad... a new trend developed where the new $299 PS3 started enticing 360 owners to pick up a ps3. And heck a large percentage of these people stopped paying for live to play online games on the PS3 for Free. There's a hell of a lot of budget conscious consumers out there, in America especially. Yea i don't think it'll happen but, it's interesting to think about. Maybe Microsoft was worried and bundled the game and payed for timed exclusivity on the map packs to keep the numbers swayed in their favor (as well as xbox live gold accounts active).

And are pre-order numbers ever the best indication of how a game will sell over several years?(could 360 owners pre-order more?) Didn't too human like pre-order 1 million or so?

Modern Warfare 2, No, Why? Xbox Live.
