Maxwell, my second fav mod!
Wow...that could've easily been avoided. Oh well. =/
OT: This is looking very good for the PS3.
In the upcoming weeks, I predict the 360 will slightly beat out the PS3 with the release of Halo 3: ODST. October is in favor of the PS3, with Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time, and Demon's Souls releasing. If a GT5 release date gets announced for some point in 2009, Forza sales could be hindered. I don't know how GTA4: Episodes from Liberty City (Retail version) will fare. November appears to be in favor of the 360, with Left 4 Dead 2 and the Modern Warfare 2 bundle releasing that month. In December, PS3 will destroy the 360, especially in Japan (FFXIII bundle), if GT5 releases then.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
Just so I understand this, we call it a "sku in a transitionary price period" when MS has a price cut, and a "PS3 is doomed firesale price-cut" when Sony does it?
Here is a quick table to summarize this:
2007 1 PS3 is doomed firesale pricecut
2008 MS put multiple skus in a transitional price redetmination periods beginning in June and ending September.
2009 Sony had another "PS3 is doomed firesale price-cut", while Microsoft has placed another sku in a transitional price reflection period. Also, MS determined that the 60 gig sku has achieved a heroic milestone and will retire from sales.
Final note, it seems like it's good business for MS to lower the price, but a terrible move for Sony to lower the price.
We good?
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
I hope 360 stays above 150k, and hope the ps3 stays above 250k until Xmas, again HOPE not predict..

They might dip a little bit below that for a few weeks.
| MaxwellGT2000 said: That's a pretty big drop in Others, I thought that would be the place that stayed up in the 200k range this week, though most of the past two weeks have indicated that the spike is due to previous owners buying a second one, Japan this week didn't see a software spike it seems. The next couple of weeks will show if the price is significantly effecting the general public buying the PS3 and if it will "own this holiday" when compared to 360 as one prediction I read. |
Pardon me? Do you have any source or facts behind that? Or you just assume it, it seems you bought into RolStoppable's yet again ridiculous prediction.
That "OH THEY BOUGHT A SECOND ONE" bullshit is pure speculation, nothing else.

I agree, especially since this is now the SECOND WEEK, if any current ps3 owners wanted a slim they would have bought one on the week of release.

^_^
It definitely looks like the 360 will be back ahead of PS3 in the only territory that really matters, US, after next week. 360 should take a comfortable advantage of 400K-1000K in the US for the rest of the year as the arcade crushes the holidays.
^^PS3 is still in top 10 on Amazon US, I dont even see the Elite or the Arcade

Son, reaching VG Chartz God status doesn't mean you automatically become a mod. |
