PS3 gains instant pizza-ordering functionality

We're finding it difficult to decide whether this piece of news indicates the beginning of a beautiful, shining era for humanity -- or whether it's an irrefutable sign of the swiftly approaching end of days. The PS3's internet browser home page now includes a "Papa John's" button, which allows esurient clickers to order hot, delicious pizza with a few quick taps of the DualShock 3's face buttons.

To put it in Console War terminology, the PS3 just discovered the atomic bomb. Unless the Xbox 360 learns how to give foot massages, or the Wii actually starts printing money, the unthinkable invention of PSPizza has ensured Sony's inexorable reign.

HAHAHAH! Too bad its only US i guess!

I can order Pizza from my Wii too. There are a bunch of websites that have been around for quite a while that allow you to order all sorts of food over the internet delivered to your house/dorm/whatever.

To bad it takes like 2 hours compared to a quick phone call which will get you a delivery within 45 minutes.

... I remember this 10 years ago on eq. /pizza and a pizza hut order form popped up.

Noticed this about a week ago. I prefer the phone.

papa johns is pretty speedy from the internet orders.

Lets see, ways I can order pizza:

• Phone call-- Not preferable because I hate talking to people if I don't have to.
• iPhone app-- quick and super simple
• website-- Also quick and usually super simple
• PS3-- I have to turn on my PS3, open the browser, wait for it to finish loading, and then finally order the pizza on probably the same web page as above.  At least I don't have to talk to people.

Overall, I would say this is slightly less than meh news.

Ive never seen this... if the service is fast i guess its fine. But ordering pizza with your console just seem a bit over the top, ridiculous :D

Cool app, but the Wii was faster on this feature if I remember it correctly

...I dont have the iphone so i dont know how that ap works... but... dont you have to turn on the puter. Wait for it to boot up. click on the web browser. Enter site address. Log in. The fill out the form?

If the Ps3 has you logged in through your PSN ID that would be sweet. If not... well then... its the same... Now if you say something like "Im on the computer about to..." I'll say "I'm on my Ps3 playing..."
