so MH3 sold less than 15K this week almost certainly

no-ones saying it bombed, it obviously didn't

but these sales are disappointing for me, I expected more from it, dunno why

maybe its like pokemon does very well on handhelds but only "good" on consoles

MH3 didn't bomb but unlike the expectations of many on these forums it will not reach a million units sold before the release of a platinum edition ( and even then it's not a given it will).

A bomb would be of Capcom shipped 1 mil, and it couldn't sell 600k... MH3 will clearly reach 1 million in Japan alone, which is excellent for any game

There's no guarantee it will sell out its first shipment, especially now that the numbers are seriously plunging. I think some people are disappointed because they expected it to rival PSP sales. I think numbers are good for what it is (even if Capcom blatantly overshipped), but here's the lesson for all of us - some franchises just sell better on handhelds.

It was pretty unanimous on VGChartz that MH3 would in no way do PSP MH numbers. Only 1 or 2 people ever even predicted that it would. I don't think anyone is disappointed with MH3 sales - only Sony fans are constantly making any fuss about it.

Uh... no... not for DQ or FF. And MH was getting to become one on that list too but I guess home consoles doesnt have the same appeal.

That's not true.

Expectations play a much larger part than overall sales. Halo 3 or FF13 selling 1 million would be a major flop.

I won't buy mh3 if it is p2p. I don't have the luxury (time) to play online for long hours to make the fee worth.

And people who had realistic expecations knew that it wouldn't sell anywhere near the PSP versions. What should be compared is the PS2 games, and let me note that it exceeded them by A LOT.
