I almost agree with you.. but still not buyers can think it is over used.

Of course Miyamoto/nintendo would not be sad by thinking that they are overusing Mario the sales are very good and Mario fans would for sure not think that it is overused(they are probably happy about it) but others can.

 But you know there's going to be someone who says "I was sick of it after the first one!" The sales argument is not going to sway them because they'll say "Britney Spears sold 10 million records, so what!" In spite of that I do think you set out a pretty good yardstick there.

I haven't seen the context of the statement that is referred to in the IGN article. I could easily take a line from one of konnichiwa's posts, like from her sig, and make a quote of something that was referred to out of context. It might actually be quite funny but it might not be very representative of the original thought or even of the original language.

1) Actually, several people have agreed that the title was inappropriate, go back and read.

2) I'm talking about people respecting you for your actions, not your position.  Making misrepresented accusations is not something worthy of respect.  If I wasn't supposed to take it seriously, then it's sarcastic whining.  Also not terribly respect-worthy.

3) "Now the mods sound like dictators, be polite with me or I ban you."  What did I just say?  I'm not threatening you on their behalf, so don't turn this into something it isn't.

I can see how it could be considered flame bait, in any case, flame bait or no it was spam. A topic title "HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!" is spam no matter which way you look at it. It doesnt matter what 25 members see the topic as, it matters what the single mod who warned the person thought.

You won't get respect from a lot of people if you keep on being a dick to people who don't deserve it. You dont have to agree with Fishy on his modding but when it comes down to it, its his decision not yours. You can complain to Stof if you want and nobody would have a problem. You can report his post. Whatever. Take it through to proper channels not through going all vigilante on the thread.

I think most people would expect you to be polite to everyone, but yes, mods do put a lot of work into a site and deserve some respect. If there is one thing that pisses a mod off its when people constantly call into question their decisions publically.

3) Oh man that was quite obvious that I don't think they are dictators, you are saying that Fishyjoe got the power of banning me and I am saying that sounds like a dictator if a mod would banning me because I don't show him respect.  If I say ' I don't respect the N-korean dictator' People would answer 'Watch out he could kill you for that'.
