You should remove Samurai Warriors 3 + Classic Controller Pro Bundle and Samurai Warriors 3 from TBA 2009 games.

I just noticed that PS3 basically have all western games after 11/12 (R&CF2, Fallout3, Mercenaries 2, Mirrors Edge, AC2, Cod:MW2) and before FFXIII is released. In the same period, it's almost all JP centric games on Wii. Interesting...



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Well it's much better than putting it on the same week or a week after only alternative would be delaying tales to after holidays but this could be even worse than releasing before FF.

Still, the hardcore JRPG fan are going to most likely have to make a choice of which game to get, and I don't think Graces will win that battle.

I think its more of Nintendo wanting to have as strong of a December lineup as possible. Tales games are pretty front loaded anyway so most sales would be in the 1st week or so.

But why buy it first week when you're unlikely to finish right before the biggest console RPG this generation launches in 7 days?

EDIT: Notice, I understand that not all ToG buyers have a PS3, etc.

But it's silly to think that there is no crossover between fans of this genre.

I'll be honest I don't expect ToG to sell much more than 400k-500k or so. And I'm pretty sure Dragon Quest X will destroy FF13 in sales so "RPG of the generation" doesn't apply there.

Dragon Quest X won't be out for another 2 years and that's pushing it.

What RPG that has already released is bigger than FF13? Until there is one, likely to be DQX, it will be the biggest console RPG.

The fact is though the Wii generally always sees a large surge in sales during December, so Namco is probably hoping to ride that wave.

I don't think they're really thinking about FF13 all that much. Launching in December and maybe riding the crescent of NSMB Wii + December sales surge probably helps Namco more than waiting until Jan/Feb even without FF13.

I get a real strong feeling both the Wii and PS3's sales will go back into the dumps by the time late January rolls around.

Well that depends on how much of an impact the games have. NSMB could have a longer lasting impact than u might imagine
