When did Sonic Adventure come out? 1999? 2000? That was the last decent Sonic game. On contrast, pretty much every game Link is in is near classic.. so there's really no comparison.

The NA release for Sonic Adventure (DC) was September 9th, 1999.

Also Sonic Adventure 2 was great as well.

After that, probably the only Sonic titles that have tickled my fancy are the Advance titles and the first Rush game.

I wouldn't call Sonic an underdog. All the rabid fanboys who hate the Wii will come in and vote for Sonic (since he's console neutral, and Link is a Nintendo icon).

I think it'll be pretty even considering that.
