This would be far more mildly at least a tad more plausible were this the first time you've pulled this exact same dog and pony show. As it is, I don't think I'm exaggerating much when I say that you've probably posted in more Malstrom threads than I have recently.

I think if they are doing this, the other systems are not the reason. I say it's because they determined that the first 50 million buys were considering the Wii good at that value, but the next 50 million might want it lower.

And I mean that in terms of the blue ocean. Even the mainstream companies have found they need to adjust prices at some point to reach larger parts of the mainstream.

Why shouldn't consumers expect a price cut? Unlike portables, these hardware companies make a fortune off controllers/accessories/etc. off the console side to boot. Don't tell me Nintendo is donating all that money from $20 nunchakus (that probably cost $2 to make) and $20 Wii Motion Plus' to charity.

There has never been and never will be a console that never drops in price. 

Even the NES which had like 95% market share still had price drops.

I think people need to get over the idea that Nintendo is some how married to Blue Ocean as well.

Nintendo isn't married to anything. Blue Ocean is not their wife, it's more like their f*ck buddy ... sure they enjoy her company, and she's good to them, but it's not an exclusive relationship, nor did they ever promise it was.

Nintendo will do whatever they feel is in their best interest at any given time.
