While this may look nice, no one here knows what kind of resources it would take to make that setup possible. Maybe Sony tried to do something like this but the XMB became slow and unbearable to use. I think Sony has done a good job with their updates, and I hope they continue with the good work

you doubt the power of the CELL?

Seriously, these are simple graphics, with a bit of information downloaded from the web. It should take a fraction of a second to download level, #bronze, #silver, #gold, #plat. That is all they need to display. Once you compare trophies it is a lot more to download, but the main XMB should be easily doable.

I would never be to foolish as to doubt the CELL.

Its not the graphics that would be the problem in my eyes, but just all of the trophy information.   Like last night I had over 20 friends online, that would mean it would have to download all 20 of my friends trophy information at startup.   And thats if they only did the ones who were onine, otherwise it would be 90 friends worth of trophy information it would have to download at startup.    But in the end I dont really know what would have to be done to make this happen, but neither does anyone here.

All he did was take screenshots of the trophy cards and the trophy compare system on the US playstation site and photoshopped them into the XMB. He never came up with anything. The day 3.00 released everyone gave feedback saying they wanted those features and guess what, Sony said they are listening to our request's

The power/potential of the cell=/= the capabilities of the Sony staff.

it will lag my ps3 off to the point of not giving a damn about my friend list.

I made a thread at the ps us forum after the 3.0 release and suggested that they be better off losing that aweful playercard we have today, and use that grey friendbox of the 3.0 firmware to add stuff like trophies and such. Exactly like the concepts in this thread. Thats all they need to do.

I dont get why they feel the need to make everything big. Playercard, friendboxes, new XMB size, Whats new boxes etc... whoever is in charge of designing the user interface at Sony really needs to be fired, asap!

On SD it'll be to much information on screen, not enough space to display everything on screen regardless of how larg the tv is, and all text will be illegible at SD since it'll need to be small to fit all the info.

All in all it simply wouldn't work on SD.

If you however own a HD tv, then this would be awesome for you.

I was pretty disappointed with the look of 3.0, that is a major improvement.
