Gamespot has an interview about the new Sonic game that was jsut announced.. when asked about what they could say about the game this was all that was said

"I can tell you it’s a brand new 2D adventure coming out in 2010, it’s in HD, and to definitely stay tuned."

its vary curious that he would say "its in HD"

i mean we are like 4 years into this cycle of consoles... unless its  a wii exclusive its pretty much assumed to be in HD.

so why would he say this instead of just saying its ps3/360?

could he be hinting at the New wii?

another point to make is that Sega deffinitly makes most its money off nintendo products with it's sonic franchise so it wouldnt make sense to just make it an "HD" game leaving out wii or even DS...

So does sega have some insider news they are hinting at or is it just crazy talk?

after all nintendo has been buddy buddy with sega latley...

onic has appeared in mutible games together now... all of which are multi million selling games.

ps. perhaps an even crazier idea, its an exclusive game coming to a new HD SEGA console being announced today (or tomorrow) in honor of the dreamcast 10th aniversary? (= 

Sega using buzz words to wrap a specific type of gamer around their finger, nothing more. There will be a Wii version, it will be SD, and it will probably outsell the "HD" versions combined despite being treated as the red head step child.

I found this funny: to speculate about the HD we have to listen to third party who can't keep their mouth close, while for the slim we had pics months and months before.

OT: Could be, but maybe he just used the word "HD" in a wrong way. Bute it can't be HD twins's exclusive, it would be a stupid thing to do.

I also that it was odd to say its in HD at first since Wii has been their moneymaker this gen. However, just because they say it will be in HD that doesn't mean it will *only* be in HD.

I'm betting we'll see a 480p Wii version while the others get up to 720p versions. Same game, just better visuals (i.e. upscaled) as it will be built on Wii and ported to others.

Well...New Sega Console rumors have been popping up again..this time with SEGA gettin approval for a new controller and memory device...

Wii HD isn't happening anytime soon.

HD + SD consoles are going to get it.

It's 2D. My automatic assumption about 2D is that it's not HD because it doesn't have to be to look fantastic. 2D games from a decade ago still look good, let alone those made today. If it's n HD, well, I'm not even sure that'll make a difference really. Except that it might actually be a good game for a change.
