I say 100k in Japan this year. (Very front loaded will get about half of that in Nov) Pushing this game to 1.3 million WW before '10. Will sell close to 1.75 LT with Greatest Hits and if it gets a bundle treatment like Uncharted past 2 million. Very succesful imo. Who is publishing it there?

Anywho, the game is selling fantastically. It's having really steady sales, and it's well on its way to a million. What more could you want? This game had next to no hype until shortly before release (say, 2 weeks or so), and even then, it wasn't that big. I'd say it's doing great.

 

No HYPE?  Are you kidding?  It was advertise on ESPN on was TNT during the NBA playoffs.

Exactly how montana explained it is how it is. There were threads asking where the hype was. There were people in prediction threads why the perdictions were so low and people saying "Not a lot of hype" Go look on the first page. I post all the LT predictions for the game. In one of the threads said "I don't know why people are projecting so high. Not every game is a success." The average came out to be 1.3 million... if this game was hyped up to be such a big game why would the average amount of people saying it would sell would be so low?

Hahaha, all depends on what side of the fence you're on.

In reality, that's nonsense. It launched during a particularly slow time, not only of the year, but also for the gaming industry as a whole.

To have sold 840,000 in the space of the slow, summer months then is, if anything, a good achievement.

I agree, not all games, especiall new IPs can jump out of the gate with a million in the first month ..
