Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem discussion thread revived

The real FE discussion I would like to know about is when is the next real FE releasing? I would love another Wii iteration of FE.

I just hope they bring back the awesomeness of the GBA style and ditch the suckage of the DS style.

If I'm not mistaken, the only DS iteration was Shadow Dragon.  And I wouldn't even attempt to call that a ligitimate progression of the series.  Since it is clearly a remake that was almost required because of smash brothers.  Looking at Intelligent Systems last major game release, which I think was AW for the DS in 2008.  The last new FE was released in 2007, so it wouldn't be too much of stretch to think story, engine and most of the assests could be complete on a new Wii FE game.  Of course this is all just my own personal wishful thinking.

Intelligent Systems makes more than just Fire Emblem.

And I'm sure the writers/story guys have been fully engrossed in fleshing out WW story lines.  I no doubt that the engine, modelers, artists are always busy, but as with most FE games I doubt these guys are the source of the development timeline bottleneck.

I would also like to be optimistic that a new one is coming.

Can anyone tell me what a scroll does, or a secret book(I think that's what it's called), will I need things like these to win the game on hard?

An arms scroll gives you +1 weapon level with the unit's equipped weapon.  Weapon level determines how powerful a weapon the unit can use.

A Secret Book gives +2 Skill (Skill makes your hits more accurate).

Oh ok, so there both pretty useful.

Both are useful, but you don't NEED to use them to finish the game.  I would suggest using your stat boosting items earlier in the game, and possibly waiting later in the game to use your arms scrolls.  This may not apply to you, but I generally use iron weapons throughout the entire game, and as a result sometimes a few of my characters don't get SS skill level, so they cannot use their SS level weapons at the endgame.

AARGH! on the hardest difficulty setting this game is punishing. The level with the laguz bandits?? Nolan just got killed from full health by one guy in one turn.
