That was so amazing. This makes me want a Halo movie so bad. Peter Jackson and Niel Blomkamp why did you abandon us :(

That was better than most movie trailers, damn im speechless

Universal and Fox did, not Peter Jackson and Niel Blomkamp.

I think it's for the same reason the distributor of District 9 is Sony Pictures.

Yea something over financial arguments which is really stupid since a Halo movie made to a high standard like this short or District 9 would do so well at the box office.

All I know is I want a good Halo movie badly, I'm just not sure about Steven Spielberg being involved. If he can recapture the brilliance of his earlier movies like Saving Private Ryan and doesn't sell out like he did with Indiana Jones then I think it could be great.

I hope theres no substance to that rumour whatsoever, I think that if there is to be a Halo film, it should be based on Halo :CE, not the fall of reach or anything else. The story of Halo: CE is what popularised the series, after all.

Have you read the fall of reach? I thought it was an amazing book and would translate into a movie far better than Halo:CE. The first game had long stretches where you didn't interact with anyone but the covenant and flood which would obviously not make for a compelling movie script. On the other hand the fall of reach had a story with multiple strong characters and really did a lot to show the extreme training spartans went through. A ODST based movie would also be interesting since they would be able to relate the humanity and horrors of the war very well through a normal soldiers eyes.

@Carl

I read some where that it was made by the same guys that did the Halo 3 believe adds but that may be wrong.

You're right that the fall of reach was a good book, However I think it only works when the reader has foreknowledge of the Halo cannon. I personally dont think it's a great story in its own right, certainly not as good as Halo :CE, which, remember, could be made to work seeing as cortana is with the master chief throughout the course of the game.

That was cool but why did they sing in Russian or something?

There are still different races of humans and not everyone speaks English in the Halo Universe.

Oh. I never payeid attention to the story in the Halo series (plus I missed Halo 2). I just tried to shoot all those critters.

Is the Halo universe based on our Earth?

Right, i see i misread it.

Just wondering, after all ... they DID do that Zelda trailer, which didnt look cheap.
