Forums - Microsoft - Natal is about “winning” this generation, says Kim

Why do they bother talking sometimes? I'm not against Natal I'm all for it, but "winning" an arena when not being first is a slooooow drawn out battle. Typically one where MS only wins if the original entrant didn't know why they were succefull in the first place. Nintendo bloody know very well how they got where they are. This is by no means a MS win fight this generation.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I seriously question whether the large majority of gamers around the world (or even most non-gamers for that matter) would be interested in playing a game with absolutely no tactile feedback. It just sounds like it would be extremely awkward, imprecise, and potentially laggy.

Wii players do that to a large extent every time they play.  Clicking the A or B buttons definitely provides tactile feedback, but holding the Wiimote and moving it around in the air to bowl, play tennis, etc. doesn't involve tactile feedback... the Wiimote is not pushing back in any way.

DDR is another example.  There is little if any tactile feedback from the DDR pad... yet it is a very popular game.

So while I will agree that many games need tactile feedback to be fun or playable, there are many examples of games that do not require it.  I would love to swing a pretend sword in the next elderscrolls game while doing battle instead of using a controller.

EDIT: Oh, yes... and it wouldn't be a bad way to get exercise while gaming... well, unless you actually "punch" your opponent in real-space or slam your arm into a lamp, etc.

Jees... Natal will likely be a blip, nothing more. Which add ons have seen success? Eye Toy even on a console with 70% marketshare was'nt even that big a deal. It does'nt matter if its better.

It's different from other add ons though. As we already know M$ are having a sku where Natal comes with a 360. So new adopting owners will have it out of the box.

“Natal is not about responding to Nintendo and what they do with Wii, it goes well beyond what Nintendo and Sony are doing."

Joke post confirmed.

^^
Natal goes up to 11 confirmed. I agree the tone is a little too over the top for me. I know PR is PR, but this is just too pompous for my tastes.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
