How many single player focussed experiences do you get? For those of us that crave multiplayer games like Crystal Chronicles, please don't begrudge us the few that we get. |
Yeah, but...
We dont have that too many great single player offerings too!

Word and more words... I need proof damn IT!1!
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing

And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Retro should only make a Single player game right now, because they are heavily experienced with it. Also there are TONS of Multi player focused games on the Wii and a lot are of high quality, maybe you guys aren't looking too much. Dare I say that there isn't enough games that focus on a single player only? A few Multi player focused games that I can mention off the top of my head are:
All the light gun games(HoD 1&2, Overkill, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Deadspace, Darkside Chronicles, and a few more), NSMBWii(the game could be played single player but the most fun is in Multi), the Conduit, Call of Duty World at War, and Call of Duty 4, Wii Series(only fun multi player really..), a good number of wiiware games, and tons of others I can't remember at the moment. Almost every game on all consoles this generation are multi player focused. The single player experiences are in the minority. That is why I'm mostly play hand held games.
The main reason why Retro Studios should focus on a single player games is because they have the most experience with that area. Yeah they most likely will be able to make an amazing multi player game, but that would take a lot more time and would probably disappoint their fan base which likes them for their single player offerings. To be honest I don't even want them changing genre's, we need more Action-Adventures, and they are a great developer for that genre.
