Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 JRPG EXCLUSIVES VS XBOX360 JRPG EXCLUSIVES

Isn't Trinity Universe a JRPG?

What about Record of Agarest War? Not sure if it's exclusive but how abotu Zill O'll Zero? Steambot Chronicles 2?

I am sure there are plenty more.

Edit- What game is that next to Atelier Rorona? May actually be one of the games I just listed.

You did not mention Atelier Rorona.

Trinity Universe is a JRPG.

Record of Agarest War needs to be added. Agarest Senki: Reappearance is on PS3/360 whereas Agarest Senki (Record of Agarest War) and Agarest Senki Zero are PS3 exclusives.

Trinity: Zill O'll Zero and Steambot Chronicles 2 are both PS3 exclusive JRPGs.

And Folklore is a JRPG. You level up by killing enemies and gaining experience.

Don't you also do that in CoD4.

I'm not arguing about Folklore but that's really poor criteria for RPGs.

I'm just not sure how it isn't. CoD4 has leveling up during the multiplayer but is non-existant in the singleplayer.

Leveling up is just a basic roleplaying element, but in CoD4 there is no character progession in terms of growing in stats. You just unlock more weapons and the like.

I can't find an english cover for Record of Agarest War either.

Here's a decent picture for Trinity Universe.

Most PS3 ones haven't gotten to our shores yet.

You also needs to add Zoids: Assault for 360.

360 wins by far.
I'd be happy If I could actually play most of the PS3 JRPGs.....

PS: Demons Souls is a WRPG. Doesn't matter where it has been developed since JRPG/WRPG are genres and not locations.

Quite a few of the PS3 JRPGS are yet to be released outside of Japan, or to be released at all. But it's picking up and yeah, I think that's where the genre will eventually settle as far as the HD platforms go.

The xbox360 list used to be bigger before some of them were ported, and that same list has been available for a while (including in the west) when the PS3 barely had anything, hence it was the console for them a while ago.

IMO, 360's is better

But if Final Fantasy Versus 13 is what we all expect it to be, that can change everything- if it stays exclusive though.

It's definitely still a JRPG.

While it may be dark and lots of black and brown, there are several Japanese themes to the world and its story.
