I think it's pretty dead without the internet O.o

Why would you spend time collecting all the items and stickers, and spend time making levels if you can't share them? Play the levels yourselves?

Playing the single player levels alone will make the game short. And the minigames aren't fun without a second person to play with locally or online.

The best way for this game to be played is with others at home. The second best is online (and only through online can you really play other people's levels), and finally alone.

The game isn't TOO short with just the sp levels, and they are quite good. Again, I don't like online gaming a lot, and I have no friends with PS3s to speak of. I like my content to be professionally delivered and that's why I like SP games, and why those like me, might find this game is best as a rental. That's all I was saying.

I understand.

I wouldn't buy it for the full price. Buy it for ~30-40 ($ or €) instead. (Or £12 if you're from the UK)

Get the Goty version, you'll have more customization options since it comes with 30+ dollars of dlc.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

goty edition :)

I have always thought it was the perfect rental. Beat it, move on.

A rental? You do know the story levels are only like 10% of the entire game experience, which grows as time goes by.

Little Big Planet isn't a game where you just play the single player levels and feel satisfied...

It's main focus is on online and level creation...

That's like saying buying a Battlefield game for the sake of singleplayer...

guys why even waste time on Zen??..he has one of the most negative, biased outlooks on this...just leave it alone

Hey, that's not fair to Zen. That's only true if he's talking about the PS3. All the games with huge online communities and tons of extra content (in addition to a pre-set campaign) are just rentals. If they're on the PS3.

I would definitely recommend the game, but it's not always relaxing.

I love motana and his amazing sarcasm XD

My "replay" value for this would be to play through the original levels again, not download them off the internet, and to be quite honest, I've never played this game online.

Maybe you should have played it online. You would have realised you don't have to spend hours creating your own levels because there are already thousands of user-created levels online. A lot of which are as good as the SP levels.

Yes, the best 50 videos. Except, unlike youtube, there are thousands of alternatives to LBP, and I think the 50 best videos give me plenty of time on that particular one.

It's not the type of game I want to play forever, anyway. I thought the SP was good fun, and plenty long. :P I'd rather spend my time playing MGS4 again, than playing with the user created content, it's just not my cupotea.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@OP

Dont pay attention to the haters. Go read the reviews of the game, check the awards it has..man this game is one the 5 best games this decade.

A rental? No
Playing with friends co-op or online? yes
Are there still people playing the game online? OMG yes. Servers are full..

I played the singlel player levels by myself and felt satisfied. I also tried to 100% the game which  i'm very close to now.  Finding and collecting all the prize bubbles really shows off how the physics are different from mario games and how with some thought they can be funner.

You don't have to play online to have a great amount of fun.  Have a buddy,gf or anybody join in the main game and watch its fun factor exponentially grow.

I have yet to create anything and I still find LBP to be a stellar game.  I have also played a few stages online.  While there are some efforts that are pure quality there are many that suck. But given how fun the game is multiplayer if you have someone to go through the stages with even a sub par stage becomes a great experience.

You dont need online Local multiplayer is a blast.
