Forums - Sales - 360 + PS3 have BIGGER sales than Wii

Hi people

At this point I'm glad to see that:

360     - 31.410.000
PS3     - 23.240.000
TOTAL - 54.650.000

Wii      - 52.510.000

Considering that the audience for 360 and PS3 are pretty much the same, I'm glad that the Wii is being beated.

Why? Because I don't want the future of video games to be Wii-like. I don't mind Wii or NINTENDO, I don't mind it all, they can get all they money they want, I don't care, no problem.

But I don't want the future of video-games to be that, I'm glad HD gaming is already winning. I was really afraid that every publisher looked at the Wii like the ONLY example to follow. We, the ones that buy HD games are proving that there's more to games than the Wii.

Yeah basically everybody knows this, look at the sales at the top of the home page, it gives market share percentage, Wii is at 49%, it would have to be over 50% to be beating HD consoles sales combined.

Makes very little sense to combine them. Even so, it is much easier to develop for one console than two, and a lower-end console at that. Not to mention that there is a chance that the Wii will succeed combined sales - not that it will mean anything anymore. Also you need to clarify what it is about the Wii and it's games you do not want, and why you believe that if the Wii beats both hd consoles combined that the industry will follow this path. I can't see anything where people just trying to mimic another successful company as being the standard, so I don't think you have worries there.

Natal and PS3 Motion Controls say hi.

Expect a lot of "Wii-like" games starting next year. Once the devs and publishers see that they can put out quick, easy games and cash in, you'll see less devotion to the core market. The only way that this won't happen is if the HD gamers don't embrace Natal or PS3 motion, and the devices flop.

It won't be sales that make the future "Wii-like," it's desire to be profitable that will.

Which is where the PS360 business model falls flat on its face.

Why don't you include PC sales with "HD", it should make you feel much better.

Y'know what makes me happy? Aligning the console launches and seeing the Wii at 55%.

Y'know what else makes me happy? The balance board outselling the PS3.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Somebody is obvioulsy feeling butt-hurt by this thread.

Do people really feel threatened by the Wii? New 'Hardcore' games are being released all the time, and it doesnt look like its going to slow down, or convert to mini-games, or swap to Wii.

This thread is kind of pointless, i dont see a purpose. But i will say this.

Comparing Wii to combined sales of PS360 in an effect to convince yourself that Wii wont change the gaming industry (which it already has) is futile at this point. Why? Because Nintendo is one company, and its making the most money. And what do companies want? More money. Others will and are following a buisness model that works.

Hooray! The collective sales penis of Microsoft and Sony is bigger than Nintendo's! Hooray!!

....

Seriously. I don't care if the HD systems have 51% market share. Nor do I care if the Wii manages to get to 50% market share or higher. This won't change my experience as a gamer. The changes are already on the way, and it's Microsoft and Sony following Nintendo's example.

I do care about the systems being successful, about gamers getting good value for their money and developers putting time and effort into quality releases.

.... I don't like the topic, but at least the OP is written in a polite way.

I LOVE ICELAND!
