at least in EU that game is damn popular, people have a higher awareness of it than R:FOM, I know people who have BROUGHT THE PS3 after playing motorstorm at my house

You can't really compare games like Lair and Heavenly Sword to gaems like MGS4 and FFXIII. Ps3 fans who hyped Lair were fools who trust every glowing preview given by a journalist. MGS4 and FFXIII, however, are much safer bets. They're practically guaranteed AAA. It's like Nintendo fans hyping Zelda. Even Uncharted is a much safer bet than Heavenly Sword, given Naughty Dog's track record.

@ URNotE,

- Maybe you didn't say that of Motorstorm and RFoM but there were actually people saying these games alone would be decisive. (Even Yesterday there was someone on VGC saying Resistance is better than Halo3)
- You're right that Gundam and EG moved consoles, but not near what anyone expected. The developer of Gundam expected 2 million (!!!!) units sold, and PS3 fans were saying it would move at least 500k consoles for each of these games.
- Warhawk was named in all those after summer lists, with HS and Lair.

But MGS, GT and FF should definitely move consoles. But that might be a little to late.
