Todd Howard, executive director at Bethesda Softworks, has said that the famed developer currently has no plans for a fifth instalment in the critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls franchise.

Speaking at the annual QuakeCon event this week, Howard said of the company’s future projects, "We are working on our next big game but we are not talking about it,” though made it clear to audience members that an Elder Scrolls V wasn’t on the cards.

As far as an MMO entry in the popular RPG series goes, Howard joked, “There's always a chance." Elsewhere, the executive also revealed that Bethesda was finished churning out post-launch content for post-apocalyptic outing, Fallout 3.

Todd appears to have said that there will be no ES game in the near future, whats that? This year, next year? He also has not said there will be no more TES games. I believe 100% that they're making TES V, and have been for over three years.

Oblivion was a huge success. What reason not to make #5? I will be patient, but I expect it by 2012 latest.
