Forums - Microsoft - Fable II hits 3 million

It's a shame this sold more than Fallout 3 or Oblivion in terms of just the 360 versions. However it is a pretty good game even if it was made seemingly for 4 year olds to be able to beat the game.

A great game like Fable 2 deserves 3 million + sales.

That's an awkward way to put it. I think you wanted to say that it's a shame that Oblivion and Fallout 3 didn't sell (even) better than they did because they deserve it.

But actually Fable II has a couple of hundre thousand copies left before it passes Oblivion on the X360.

Oblivion has sold at least 3.2 million on the X360 alone even if it says 2.75 mill in the database, cause VGC hasn't updated it's European sales in two years. But eventually Fable II will surpass it...

I thought we didn't update for under a 1000 sales a week?

But that doesn't for a moment mean we should assume there is just under a thousand sales a week.

1000 per week or even more, yeah. The problem I think is some games don't seem to become re-tracked after they've fallen below the 1000 or 2000 per week level, even if they start selling steadily more again.

Both fable 2 and oblivion were bitter dissapointments for me. But they were still better then 90% of games released this gen.

The sales are well deserved for both regardless.

Good job, it is certainly very, very near the top of my 360 purchase list!

I liked Fable II. Never got the chance to play the first one, so I got no expectations. I only knew it was an Rpg, but I found it pretty unique. Like a Diablo-thesims-GTA- hybrid. Very innovative franchise. I hope they keep on pushing the envelop and take the idea way beyond the genre for the sequel.
