Looks like PS3 might head under 30k/week in the Americas soon. With nothing but rumors of a slim model and pricecut, plus a large stock overload in the local gamestops and best buys, hard to see things getting better

Lol

About a year ago certain people were lol'ing at the prospect of the PS3 going under 120 000 units a week worldwide. Saying that the PS3's immediate sales future doesn't look good (not doomed) is not a value judgement on those that own the system, it is looking at the facts.

These are some bad numbers for the ps3 and xbox

Hey! Don't include the Xbox 360 in with your suffering!

you got to accept the true.

LOl... yeah, okay

why not? its only 6k away from that mark now. That's not too unlikely of a drop, seeing the sales rate that's been going on the past month

the lol part is not the prediction of 30k/week

the lol part is :

With nothing but rumors of a slim model and pricecut ( LOL), plus a large stock overload in the local gamestops and best buys (lol links?) , hard to see things getting better

Time to Work !

I like how everyone's predicting doomsday for the Wii because its sales are down from last year but everyone seems to just shrug at PS3's 77k sales worldwide as "the norm." Goes to show how use to we get to the Wii completely dominating the charts.

Put it in perspective, despite the Wii sales dropping from last year, it's still outselling PS3+360 combined.

I think the wii will see less sales because there are way fewer people wowd by it nowadays.  A very large number of people buying the wii are people who don't really play games.  They play the wii at a friends house and think it's really fun, so they buy it themselves.  After a week (or month or X amount of time) it just sits in the corner collecting dust.

Not true

Did you see the nielson news report on console usage.

The PS3 is collecting more dust than a hoover.

But I am laughing at your total hate for the console that is in the lead

My total hate for the console? Are you being serious? What I said is completely true. Doesn't mean I hate the console. It's definitely my least favorite this generation. It still has its uses. Wiiware has quite a few good games. I play fire emblem and other gamecube games on it fairly often. Some of the party games are fun to load up when I have a bunch of people over. I have no real hate for the system. Just because I say something negative you assume its hate talk. Grow up.

Sorry Cidien, just becaue you or some other people think this does not make it true.  mhsillen pointed out evidence that directly contridicted what you said and you ignored the evidence he presented.  You also rolled out anti-Wii troll argument #1-- nobody really plays the Wii, and that is why he (and I) both assumed you hated the Wii.  You made an irrational argument that Wii haters make.

You should go look at the Nielson study, it presents data that indicates that the Wii is actually played a lot.  If the Wii was bought by a large number of people who did not use it ("After a week (or month or X amount of time) it just sits in the corner collecting dust") then the study would have shown that with the Wii getting almost no play time what so ever.  Sorry, that study and other evidence (like the average play time of various games on the Nintendo channel) not only disproves your 'completely true' statement, it blows it out of the water.

LInks to Sony announcements of a pricecut or a slim model, and I'll rescind my statement.

I can't link what is visible proof of local shop stocks of consoles. Come out to Jersey City, Manhattan, and Hoboken if you want to check for yourself.

Are people here seriously thinking the PS3 will beat the 360 in sales this holiday season? if so I have one thing for you: LMAO!!!!!!

If the price drops, as seeming so obvious by now, I'd say it's likely. Regardless, it'll be an interesting holiday! Lots of good stuff to play for everybody

^So true CGI!

Again looking at these numbers makes me wonder what is going to happen when the PS3 pricecut/slim is announced. Won't the sales go lower than this?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
