I think hate is quite a strong word as well. I'd be very surprised if people hated this game.

Reverse this and you'll have my consensus.
I love both Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, they're both incredible games (Tooie is #18 on my all time favorites while Kazooie is #7) but I have to say that I just really enjoyed Kazooie more. Heck, I never ended up finishing Tooie because there was so much to do and see that it sort of overwhelmed me (Seriously, the first time I went into Grunty Industries I cried out "I'm supposed to actually beat this?!"
).
However, Banjo-Tooie was actually my GoldenEye 007 with its 4 player shooting mini-game. The fact that each character had different life bars and running speeds (everyone was always a jinjo since other players had to actually point down to hit them
) and that the ammo eggs were customizable made us go back to it time and time again. We had such a fun time using Clockwork Kazooie eggs to blast unsuspecting players.
So uh... brilliant game. ![]()

banjo tooie could be extremely overwhleming at times, ill give you that, but the sheer scale of the game is something to be marveled at. It was like BK on steroids if you ask me.
I have very fond memories of DK 64, but when I go back and play it now, it just seems so dense and hostile. It isn't a game which invites me to spend hours playing it.
I don't know, I think that DK 64 was the weakest of rare's n64 line up.
I spent more time playing DK64's multiplayer than probably ANY other game that generation, period, and I've always thought the baddies in the Banjo games were a poor attempt at coming up with unique, original, and memorable characters.
DK64 feels a thousand times cleaner than either Banjo title, IMO, and the gameplay always felt more solid to me.
I never spent enough time with Tooie to really get a feel for all of its offerings, though, but what I did get to play, I didn't like as much as Kazooie, and I'm mainly just going off everybody else's opinions for why it beats Kazooie. =p

I can't say I hate Tooie, but I do prefer the first one over it. Including multiplayer in Tooie though, made it closer in my mind.
multiplayer was the only aspect that i didnt enjoy i BT. It felt rushed and shallow. but thats just me. i allways had JFG and Golden eye to play
In music and gameplay, the firs Banjoo was the best game of both.

You really think it's better than Super Mario 64?

I disagree, I think the weakest was Mickey's Speedway USA.
