Forums - Nintendo - Why CAPCOM do not......?

if they release it on DS they would kill themselves because they're main fanbase is on PSP.

It would be a money maker.

Have you seen the 3D graphics on the DS?

yeah that's why, the PSP is just more capable at rendering 3D than the DS will ever be, and since the game is all 3D, then the PSP was the most logical choice.

Now if Capcom wanted to they could make a 2D version or something, but it would turn away the fanbase because it'll be seen as a downgrade to what their use to, or it will most likely be considered a spin off, neither of which will make their fanbase to happy.

I once asked Christian Svensson about it, but I'm not sure you'd like to hear the answer...

What did he say?

That it's a nice idea, but there's no point since their teams and userbase are on the PSP.

To be honest, the fans who buy the game on PSP probably already have DS' anyway. Whether they would want to buy the game when to some it seem as if it is a downgrade is the problem.

Wasn't biggest Dragon Quest fanbase on PlayStation consoles due to Dragon Quest 7 be on PS1 and Dragon Quest 8 on the PS2? Look at the sales of Dragon Quest 9 on DS! Monster Hunter fanbase is at the moment on the PSP....but in Japan everybody own a DS, even those with a PSP and for sure would buy a Monter Hunter title for the DS.

the graphic limitations on the ds wouldn't allow the games to be adapted in their current gameplay style, so a complete reestructuration of the gameplay would be needed.

I agree. Local multiplayer sell better on PSP versus DS. Look at the Phantasy Star series. PS0 sold much worse despite being a better game than PSP.

Actually, a top down GTA: Chinatown wars type Monster hunter game would kick ass.

Pretty much any 3D game converted to the DS with that kind of top down view would kick ass.... God I loved China Town Wars!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Local multiplayer?  Seen Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing Wild World?

But I do agree that this series really does need some degree of 3D muscle to play the way it's supposed to.  The game system would have to be dramatically changed for it to run well enough (ie make it 2D or Chinatown Wars style).

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
