No. I am not using it as an excuse.
Just look at the games that we played before GTA III. We played cutesy platformers and racing games. Now we play FPS games and sandbox games. The industry has spoken and we like to play stuff like that. This is why there are only mindless FPSes and the like. This is why the industry loves the occasional Action-Adventure and Platforming games because they are starved for them.
