Forums - Nintendo - Mark Rein continues to anger Nintendo fanboys

not surprised coming from Epic they are to Wii fanboys what Valve is to PS3 fanboys. It's truly a s sight to be seen how both groups try to downplay both those developers games and call them irrelevant when they know they are not.

Carry on.

Epic's main buisness is selling engines for PS360.

Any game made on the wii is lost money for them.

No surprise that he'd talk crap about it.

Most developers struggle on the Wii, at a visual level. If they could make an engine for the system, one that'd leave The Conduit and Mario Galaxy in the dust, I'm pretty sure they'd get a really good return on their investment. He's just cherry picking here.

I don't see that happening in the remaining 2.5 years this console generation is likely to last.

You don't ascribe to the extended console generation dogma? Are you talking about a completely new cycle or just the Wii?

Tease.

Funny that every game that flops on wii has an excuse. Why don't you accept that nobody wanted the game?

So when the dev/pub says they consider it a success, and you say it's a flop, that means it must be because you said so?  Heh, learn something new everyday ;)

I keep wondering why so many 360/PS3-centric developers have to go out of their way to take shots at the Wii and make themselves look like ignorant asshats in the process.

Devs can be power queens if they so wish it. But if the Wii really is such a gimped, childish, "sub-console" platform, why not just ignore it?

@ Ail: Ubisoft has a range of exciting games like Petz and Rabids go home for Wii users. Not my cup of tea personally, Space Quest III is calling me and thats a much better game.

As for Activision, they aren't making a Wii version of their highest selling series, I was hearing talk of a boycott recently not sure if thats still going on.

Yeah I guess our Wii fanboys on this site really do love their Petz games and the way Ubisoft is supporting their platforms !

PS : I ain't complaining about Ubisoft and Activision as a HD owner. Can't wait to get my hands on AC2 !!!

I guess our HD fanboys on this site can't stand it when a game on their console does well.  No need to get angry now ;).

Red Steel, NMH, TMNT and other; you're right, us Wii owners hate games like these D:<.

he didn't just take shot for the fuck of it, he was asked specific questions in regards to this, he gave them an honest answer, or would you have rather prefered he act like a jack ass and ignore the guy and walk away, or give the typical dull answer of "sorry can't comment".

I don't think the current consoles are simply going to disappear in 2.5 years but we've seen evidence that being the first to release new console in a generation yields favorable results in terms of developer support.

Were I in Microsoft's place, I would wish to get that same lead next generation as I did in this one.  Were I in Sony's place, I would do everything I could to stop Microsoft from getting developers onboard and experienced with its system's API before mine.  Were I in Nintendo's place, I would be watching the competition very closely.

If that was his honest answer then he should've just left it at "We prefer to work with platforms we're good with, and the Wii isn't one of them". The message would've still been clear, honest and without the pointless side dishes of douchebaggery and ignorance.

And yes, I would've preferred a "no comment" over what he said. It's always better to keep your peace and be doubted as a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it.

As shown by this message.

I think jumpstarting the next gen in the current economy when PC shows no sign of c ompeting with the HD consoles would be a very bad idea.........

Right now it's not in either Sony or Microsoft interest to jumpstart the next gen. And it's not like customers or developers are asking for it too.

So who would it benefit ???

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !
