Yeah, I'm hoping for some kind of hardware device solution rather than download though.

I honestly dont care for a 2nd analog.. there are handhelds that dont even have analogs.

| Kantor said: What about the PlayStation? That had ZERO analog sticks to begin with, and then got two. I see their point, though, which is that there IS no point in adding another analog stick. It wouldn't be compatible with the majority of PSP games. Might as well wait for the PSP2 or whatever they call it (PS2P? or maybe PS3P since the PSP is basically PS2-level power) |
how would it break compatibility with majority of psp games? the nub would not be mapped, just like analog sticks were not mapped on the ps1 controller for early games. and if anything breaks compatibility its lack of a UMD drive really think they are going to port all the games even the flops to downloadables, and if they do figure out how to rip them for home users(should be very easy considering the number of games floating online) it would require a second psp, or some sort of peripheral
all this would do is require programers to put a second set of controls into the options, maybe most of them would not use it or maybe it would lead to programers not setting up controls for classic psps. i would have bought a go with a second nub, but since i t has none ill stick with my original psp.
in the end though the lack of a second nub on the original psp is a gross misstep in the platform that has hindered it from being the behemoth it should have been.... I mean really would it have been that much harder to copy the buttons on theirs standard controller of the time? I can forgive the omtion of certain buttons but since the twin stick layout emerged it has been the better layout for controllers

dont you see sony could have dominated the control setup mimicking the home console they could have almost straight ported games for mobile users they could have been the FPS players mobile console. there are alot of games where the second nub does not matter, but the shooter genra needs it and they hindered its growth on the psp without the second nub. sigh

I am not sure that is going to happen. You would have to have your PSP ripping it to your computer or something. I hope it does, because then I can continue buying UMDs and then putting them on my go
