Forums - Nintendo - Modern Warfare 2 officially not heading to Wii

The conduit and W@W are not as good as CoD4 so its unfortunate that they wont be able to play Modern Warefare 2.

not a surprise. The wii cant handle the specs, so we would only wind up with a watered down version. besides the original wasnt on the Wii either though there was a DS version.

you win some you lose some, seems to be the nature of things this gen. So if you want either of the games, then simply get the console that corresponds, otherwise put up with the fact you'll miss out, move on and play another game you like.

It's the nature of the industry. Remember, the industry was built on exclusives, NOT multiplatform gaming. I say, if you really want to play the game that isn't coming to your system, buy the system it's on (if you can). Otherwise, don't complain about it.

Every game doesn't have to be on every system. What would be the point of multiple systems if every damn game is mulitplat....?

I never understood that ridiculous logic...

Maybe because the idea of multiple systems is dying?

Since when...?

And if that's true, the industry must be dying too...

Because Xbox Live and PSN and Wii online aren't interoperateable, so if one gets a commanding lead they can sew up most of the online gamers. Couple that with the fact that artistry which is portable is dwarfing the cost of the only semi-portable programming and you have a recipe for ports everywhere and the public gravitating towards the one system. The games aren't going to define the consoles as much as the social network side will, so just as theres one telephone network there'll eventually be one console gaming network and with it only one console. Its stupid and inefficient to maintain two different consoles just to keep track of two different friends lists, buying games sometimes for both consoles etc, most people won't stand for it.

Tease.

So how are they meant to reach there goal of best selling game ever if there not releasing it for the best selling home system?

Oh thats right they wont. Still be a good game, on PC, with its fullest specs and free online.

Well, unfortunately the best selling home system doesn't sell this genre as well as the HD consoles do. Regardless, IMO the Wii doesn't need it, it has plenty of great software already to justify a purchase.

That's more because there aren't that many great FPS on the Wii in the first place. If it had as many, and they didn't sell as well, that would be a legit argument, but it flies in the face not having the same output to properly compare.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I highly disagree with it being stupid to have multiple choices. The industry has survived so long with that, so why should it cease to exist now?

Yet, there were arguably better games when there was one overall dominant system and games tended moreso to be exclusive for that one system. Im not saying only one system, im saying only one dominant system.

Tease.

Is anyone really surprised by this? I'm not.

It's not like the engine that IW created for the Wii is any good. For such a renowned and respected company that's supposed to be able to do amazing things, it's funny that a small time and often criticised company like HVS can create an engine that runs circles around the best IW could come up with.

Pathetic, really. If Activision and IW want their games to sell on the Wii, they need to start producing full versions with much better graphics. In other words, they need to give the Wii version the same effort they bring to the PC, 360, and PS3.

The fact that they make the most money out of the wii really makes me sick.
