Finally a Spanish member. Congratulations!!

The Spanish team deserved the title in the end. They didn't play as well at this WC as 2 years ago at EURO, but this was epxected as there was more pressure on the team this time. Overall they were the best team again.

thus ends a thoroughly dissapointing world cup, fittingly a pretty poor final too, the third place play off was probably the best game of the cup too...

meh, only a month or so to the new premiership season now, CANT WAIT!

I'm gonna go see Celtic vs Lyon at the Emirates in a few weeks.

Still disapointed.

Spain was the better team and de Jong deserved red, but it's still sad to lose due to  wrong decisions (Heitinga's second yellow was a dive and we should have gotten a corner) by Howard Webb.

Still proud of the Oranje. Better luck at the EC in 2012!

Welcome back. Webb made alot of wrong decisions in this game. He may be a good referee in general, but on this evening he made the most brutal WC final I've ever seen even worse due to lack of courage. Webb's refereeing was a slap in the face of players from other teams who were sent off during this WC for way less than some fouls committed in the final (especially from de Jong, van Bommel and also later the revenge foul from Iniesta, which Webb couldn't punish as a consequence of his failures in the 1st half).

I'm surprised that so many Dutch fans and media are proud of this specific Dutch team. Times have changed, it seems.

Why wouldn't we be proud? We've reached the final. Something Germany, Brasil, Argentina, England, France, Italy, etc. can't say. It's only testimony to the quality of Spain that the team didn't see any other way of disturbing the Spanish play than to play very tough.

And let's be honest; South-American teams and also Italy and Portugal (dirtiest team this WC) always play very tough and don't get criticized for it.

@Barozi: Yeah it's been awhile...
